What is the Netflix movie Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx about?

Enjoy some good old-fashioned vampire fun in Netflix’s latest action-packed vampire horror movie day shift, starring Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg as vampire slayers. The new movie hits Netflix this Friday, August 12th.

Foxx plays Bud Jablonski, a working-class father who just wants to provide for his family. While he works as a pool cleaner during the day, Bud is part of an international association of vampire hunters at night.

If you’ve watched the trailer, you’ll also realize that the film, directed by JJ Perry, is from the guys who “taught John Wick how to kick ass,” so we’re in good hands here. From garlic grenades to unique ways to use pool cleaning tools, there’s tons of fun in this movie.

What is “Day Shift” about?

day shift is an urban fantasy action comedy flick inspired by vampire hunting horror. Foxx’s character is no longer part of the Hunters’ Union, having been cast out by his penchant for making his own rules.

Now a freelancer struggling to make ends meet, and when his ex suggests he raise money for their daughter’s college tuition, it’s more important than ever for Bud to find a way to raise more money quickly.

He needs to get back in the union so he can hunt the prestigious vampire bounties that come with much better rewards… and risk. Luckily, his longtime friend Big John Elliott (Snoop Dogg) is willing to offer some advice and put in a good word. Dave Franco rounds out the main cast as Seth, a union member tasked with keeping Bud on track, which is certainly easier said than done.
