Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes evaded NFL rules when he appeared in a Coors Light commercial.
The rules state that active NFL players may not appear in a beer-related ad and may only appear in certain approved ads.
What is the Patrick Mahomes Coors Light commercial about?
A new Coors Light commercial found the gap in the NFL’s strict no-beer commercials for active players.
In the commercial, released July 12, 2022, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes promotes a Coors Light but not the beer.
Mahomes wears a real Coors light, like in a flashlight, to promote her brand, referencing her tagline: “High quality steel so it feels as cold as the Rocky Mountains.”
He also made the commercial for a good cause.
Coors Light partnered with Mahomes to donate all proceeds from the sale of his $15 flashlights (which sold out within four hours of the ad’s publication) to his charity 15 and the Mahomes.
