What is Josh Duggar’s final verdict?
The verdict for Josh Duggar’s pornography trial was announced on Thursday December 9 where he was found guilty of possession and receipt of child pornography.
His sentencing date was May 25, 2022.
The Sun is able to reveal for the first time that Arkansas Judge Timothy L. Brooks sentenced 34-year-old Josh to more than 12 years in prison on May 25.
Prosecutors wanted the disgraced star to receive the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, while Josh’s legal team asked for just five years behind bars before the court hearing.
After the defense rested on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, closing arguments in the trial were scheduled for Wednesday, December 8. After the closing arguments, the jury deliberated.
Prosecutors dropped their case on Monday, December 6, before Duggar’s attorneys took the stand.
Forensic computer analyst Michele Bush told Duggar’s lawyers the computer used to download child pornography could have been accessed remotely.
The defense argued that someone else may have downloaded the child pornography onto the computer at Duggar’s work station or placed it where police found the files.
They added that no child pornography was found on Duggar’s PC or phone.
Bush told prosecutors that her experience as a forensic computer analyst included her time as a college student, according to KNWA-TV.
After telling the defense that she had testified in court several times as an expert witness, upon subsequent questioning, Bush admitted that the Duggar case could “possibly” be her first case in federal criminal court.
