On June 3, 2022, it was reported that several were injured at a hospital in California’s San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles Police Department reported the incident to Encino Hospital Medical Center Friday afternoon.
What happened at Encino Hospital Medical Center in California?
Multiple outlets, including NBC Los Angeles, reported stabbings that took place at Encino Hospital Medical Center.
Police reported that the stabbings took place on the 16000 block of Ventura Boulevard in a building at the Encino Hospital Medical Center.
The attacker was barricaded inside the building, the outlet reports.
NBC Los Angeles reports that the attacker was arrested by police around 5 p.m.
One victim was being transported to a nearby hospital at the time.
At least three were injured, according to ABC7’s Chris Cristi via Twitter.
Authorities also report that a SWAT team is en route to the area.
LAPD and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics are on site.
One victim reportedly appeared to be wearing a hospital uniform and another appeared to be a patient.
The hospital has reportedly declared an “internal disaster.”
What is an internal disaster?
According to The National Library of Medicine, an internal disaster is defined as “events that occur within the walls of the hospital itself, such as: B. an active contactor, power failure or radiation exposure”.
On the other hand, external disasters are situations that occur outside of the hospital.
The victims of the stabbing were taken to a trauma center by the authorities.

ABC7’s Chris Cristi said around 5:06 p.m. local time that a man in his 30s allegedly stabbed the victims.
Cristi wrote: “A man in his 30s abandoned the gray Chevy Impala in the middle of Ventura Blvd, went to the emergency room and requested treatment for anxiety, then stabbed a doctor and two other victims to death. He is barricaded in a 5 x 5 foot room. “
