What does John Wayne Gacy’s house look like today?

If you watched The John Wayne Gacy TapesJoe Berlinger’s sequel to his previous true crime series Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapesthen you know that most of John Wayne Gacy’s victims were found buried in the crawl space under his house and in various other places around his property.

The three-part documentary series goes into more detail on how the victims were found and exactly how they were placed in the area, but many people are curious as to what happened to Gacy’s home. is it still standing

John Wayne Gacy’s house then and now

According to Realtor.com, Gacy’s ranch home was leveled in 1979. It makes sense considering no one wants to live in a house where so many horrible things happened. A little less than a decade later, in 1986, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom brick home was built in its place.

Over the decades, this property has undergone several changes. According to the outlet, the 2,500-square-foot home has been sold to several different owners over the past few years, most recently in March 2021 for $395,000. It’s actually a pretty house now, with vaulted ceilings, a two-sided fireplace, and a skylight.

You might think the price is cheap. It is. But people can’t help but watch this piece of land from the side for what happened there, especially in a case like this where we know that most of Gacy’s victims were actually buried on this land. It might be different if Gacy just lived there and committed his crimes/hid the bodies elsewhere.

“They have a bad juju there associated with that particular geographic location,” real estate appraiser Orell Anderson says, per Realtor.com.
