‘What does he do? Dyer!’ – Eric Dier was slammed by Tottenham fans for a fluffed clearance that led to the Brentford goal

ERIC DIER has been slammed by Tottenham fans after his fluffed release resulted in Brentford’s second goal.
Spurs were everywhere in the opening hour and looked doomed after going 2-0 down to their London rivals.

Dier’s error compounded an initially poor team performance as Antonio Conte’s men almost sleepwalked in embarrassment on Boxing Day.
But the guests rallied in the second half and salvaged a point.
Spurs fans were still angered by Eric Dier’s mistake early in the second half.
The England defender clipped a bouncing ball he was trying to clear and accidentally shot it for a corner.
Brentford then scored from the resulting set piece when Christian Norgaard put in a cross which Ivan Toney found at the far post to make it 2-0.
Tottenham supporters were not happy with Dier’s contribution to the goal.
One said on Twitter: “If that donkey dier gets a new contract, they can forget about my season ticket renewal.”
Another said: “Compare the difference in serenity [Ivan] perisian u [Dejan] Kulusevski must be with Dier day and night.”

While another irritated fan said: “As soon as Dier cut it for a corner it was guaranteed to score and it was always, always, always Toney. Spursy.”
Dier has been praised for his form for several months but has made a few spectacular mistakes in recent games.
Fans were unfazed by a mistake against Frankfurt in the Champions League and he was also responsible for Mo Salah’s second goal as Liverpool won in north London last month.
Luckily for Dier, Spurs made an unlikely comeback to take a point.
Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg both scored as Tottenham managed to avoid defeat in their first Premier League game since the World Cup.
