What do the voice actors look like in real life?

We’re just two days away from one of the biggest Netflix movies of the summer, The Sea Creature.

The upcoming adventure film is an animated extravaganza that’s garnering tons of positive feedback from critics and early audience reception (the film hit theaters back in June ahead of its upcoming Netflix debut).

Karl Urban and Zaris-Angel Hator play the two main characters, the legendary monster hunter Jacob Holland and the young, intrepid girl Maisie Brumble, who is hiding on Holland’s ship. At sea, Maisie befriends one of the deadliest sea monsters and changes everything Jacob thought he knew about monsters.

As you watch the film, you might recognize some of the voices and be curious what the actors look like in real life! The following cast guide will help you learn more about who plays who in the film and where you might have seen them before.

Karl Urban as Jacob Holland

This handsome New Zealand actor has been in Hollywood for a long time. He addresses the strapping seafaring monster hunter Jacob Holland. Urban was born on June 7, 1972 and is currently 50 years old.

Where have you seen him before? The actor has been around for a long time. He started out in projects like Xena: warrior princess and ghost ship before moving on to more important roles. You probably know him as Éomer in Lord of the Rings franchise or Leonard McCoy in the star trek reboot. More recently, Urban starred in the Prime Video series The young. He also performed Dredd and Thor: Ragnarok.

What’s next? Urban will return for The young Season 4 and he will have another animated role soon as well Ark: The Animated Series.

Zaris-Angel Hator is the talented young actress who will voice Maisie The Sea Creature. The 18-year-old first rose to fame after starring in the lead role Matilda the musical in the west end.

Where have you seen her before? Next to Mathildemaybe you saw Hator in it Victoria or Ascending Black Earth. She also recently appeared in disease.

What’s next? Hator will appear as Sima The powerPrime Video’s thriller series adapted from Naomi Alderman’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Jared Harris as Captain Crow

Jared Harris is a revered British actor who has received numerous award nominations throughout his legendary career. He addresses Captain Crow.

Where have you seen him before? Harris is best known for starring in the HBO miniseries Chernobyl, mad Men, The Terror, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, edge area, The crown, The wide and Foundation, endowment. Most recently he acted in Emil Nicholas disease.

What’s next? Harris is expected to reprise his role as Professor James Moriarty for years to come Sherlock Holmes3 and the real drama about the art world, Rothkoin which he will star alongside Aaron Taylor Johnson and Russell Crowe.

Dan Stevens as Admiral Hornagold

Dan Stevens is an acclaimed English actor who was born on October 10, 1982. The 39-year-old actor is married to Susie Hariet and they have three children together. Stevens first came to international attention when he starred in Matthew Crawley Downton Abbey. Since then he has acted in numerous films and projects. He speaks to Admiral Hornagold The Sea Creature.

Where have you seen him before? Next to downtown abbeyStevens is also known for starring in the FX series legion, which garnered a lot of praise during the broadcast. He also starred in thriller films such as The guest and Netflix’s religious horror apostle.

Disney fans may know him best as The Beast in the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast where he starred alongside Emma Watson. Other films for which he is known include, among others The man who invested Christmas, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of the Fire Saga and Night at the Museum: Mystery of the Tomb. He most recently played John Dean in Starz’ Watergate scandal drama gas lit.

What’s next? Stevens was tapped to star in the Hulu limited series Immigrant, about Somen “Steve” Banerjee, the Indian-American entrepreneur who founded Chippendales. Kumail Nanjiani will play Banerjee while Stevens will play hustler Paul Snider. He will also reunite with The guest Director Adam Wingard in Legendary’s Godzilla vs Kong Consequence.

Marianne Jean Baptiste as Sarah Sharpe

English actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste was born on April 26, 1967 and is first known for her role in the 1996 film Secrets & Lies, for which she received multiple nominations, including a Golden Globe, an Academy Award, and a BAFTA. The accomplished 55-year-old actress is married to Evan Williams and has two children. She addresses Sarah Sharpe.

Where have you seen her before? Jean-Baptiste starred in the series Without any trace as Vivian Johnson for several years and has since starred in other shows such as Blind spot and Prime Videos homecoming. She also has a recurring role in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Series as Elizabeth Wright.

What’s next? She will next be seen in the Apple TV+ psychological thriller series Turn up starring alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Other projects in the works include the action thriller rumble through the darkness with Bella Thorne and Aaron Eckhart and the BBC drama series The following events are based on a bunch of lies.

Kathy Burke as Gwen Batterbie

Kathy Burke is a 58-year-old English actress, comedian, writer and director best known for her appearances in sketch shows Absolutely fantastic and French and Saunders. Born on June 13, 1964, Burke has won several awards throughout her career, including Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her work in the 1997 film Nile through the mouth for which she also received a BAFTA nomination.

Where have you seen her before? Burke made her film debut in the 1982 drama Scrubbers, but she is probably best known for playing Magda in it Absolutely fantastic. She has also acted in other films, e.g Pan, Once upon a time in the Midlands, The Martins, Anita and I and Craft tailor soldier spy. On TV you may have seen her on the BBC sitcom give me give me give mewhich earned her a British Comedy Award and two BAFTA nominations.

What’s next? Burke recently directed the new ITV series Keepbased on the bestselling novel by Graham Norton.
