What did Lil Keed say about YSL and Young Thug?
Rapper Lil Keed spoke out in support of Young Thug last week following his gang-related charges.
Taking to Instagram to share a message about the situation, he said: “YSL is family. YSL is a label. YSL is a way of life. YSL is a lifestyle. YSL is not a gang. YSL is not a criminal [organization]. YSL is not a street gang. YSL is not a mob.”
The 24-year-old Atlanta native has released several projects through the YSL label, including 2019’s “Long Live Mexico” and “Trapped on Cleveland 3.”
On May 14, 2022, just days after his testimony, Lil Keed passed away.
What is YSL?
YSL, also known as Young Stoner Life and Young Slime/Slatt Life, is an Atlanta-based record label founded in 2016 by rapper Young Thug.
Artists include Gunna, Lil Keed, Christian Eppinger and many more.
On May 9, Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested in Atlanta on charges of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participating in street gang activities.
Along with his arrest, 28 members of YSL were charged with various things ranging from murder to theft to drug possession.
According to an indictment obtained by Fox5, the group “conspired to conspire and cooperate with others to illegally obtain money and property through a pattern of extortion activities and conduct the company through and engage in a pattern of extortion activities.” .
Young Thug’s lawyer has denied the claims, stating: “Mr. Williams has committed no crime,” adding that he will “fight to the last drop of his blood to acquit him.”
The rapper is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail.
