What are Lil Uzi Vert’s pronouns?

In 2021, Instagram introduced a new feature that allowed users to add their favorite pronouns to bios to include gender identity.

Lil Uzi Vert previously passed him/her but shocked fans in July 2022 after changing her pronouns to her/her in her Instagram bio.

The change in pronouns led fans to believe they now identify as non-binary because, according to ET, it was in the same week that the International Day of Non-Binary People is celebrated.

However, the artist has not commented on changing his pronouns.

What are gender pronouns?

In recent years, many have changed their gender pronouns to reflect their gender identity.

Popular pronouns are he/him, she/she and she/them.

She/they pronouns are typically used by people who identify as non-binary, meaning they do not identify as male or female.

Mary Emily Ohara, a communications officer at GLAAD, who also identifies as non-binary, told NPR that using them/they pronouns is “just a small change,” since “they” is already commonly used when man talks about someone we wear don’t know personally.

“You’re just asking someone not to pretend they don’t know you, but to remove gendered language from their vocabulary when talking about you,” O’Hara said.

“I identify as non-binary and come across as feminine. People often assume my pronouns are she/them. So they will use these. And I’ll just gently correct them and say, hey, you know what, my pronouns are she/them just for your information, for future reference or something.”

Other popular celebrities who use she/them pronouns include Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, Sara Ramirez, and Brigette Lundy-Paine.

Is Lil Uzi Vert Releasing A New Album?

Along with changing their pronouns, Lil Uzi Vert also announced a new EP titled Red & White.

The new EP is expected to be out in the coming weeks, ahead of The Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert’s first album since the release of Eternal Atake in 2020.

At this point, no exact release date has been announced for either the EP or the album.
