Januzaj, 27, played under Hammers boss David Moyes at Manchester United and Sunderland – and the pair could be set for a third spell together.
According to talkSPORT, West Ham have started negotiations with Januzaj’s representatives.
The winger received his Man United debut from Moyes and made 63 appearances for the Red Devils.
During his six-year spell at Old Trafford, he was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland – and met Moyes again at the Stadium of Light.
He played 28 games for the Black Cats in the 2016-17 season and was unable to avoid relegation.
Januzaj has not been in the Premier League since, joining Sociedad in the summer of 2017.
The former prodigy made 168 appearances for the LaLiga side, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists.
He has played 15 international matches for Belgium – including at the 2018 World Cup.
