WEST HAM poked fun at Lyon after beating them out of the Europa League quarter-finals.
The French’s hubris came back to bite them as Lyon star Moussa Dembele was trolled by West Ham’s Twitter team.
Dembele was something of a pantomime villain after the first leg due to his wink after Aaron Creswell’s red card.
But after West Ham put on a stunning display to record a famous win in the second leg, West Ham responded by tweeting a wink emoji of their own.
rice too joined the mockeryreplied “that’s aged well” alongside a laughing emoji in response to Lyon’s Twitter account suggesting they were guaranteed to pull through.
Mikhail Antonio, known for his humorous social media posts, also tuned in.
He shared a photo Twitter of herself, who looked like he was about to burst, alongside a caption that read: “Can’t last long…….
“WEST HAM ARE MASSIVE EVERYWHERE WE GO WEST HAM ARE MASSIVE EVERYWHERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO EVERYWHERE WE GOOOOOOOO ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒.”
Rice couldn’t help slamming Lyon’s behavior in his post-match comments, admitting Dembele’s wink gave his side extra motivation.
He told BT Sport: “If you can’t get up for these games then you shouldn’t be playing football.

“The rumble of the warm up, it was goosebumps and it gives you the fire in your stomach to go out and perform.
“There was some incentive for us to go out and win tonight.
“Dembele winks at the camera in the first leg and their twitter admin kind of says they don’t see how they won’t go through.
“These things come back to bite you. We stayed calm, we performed and now West Ham are in the semi-finals. What more do we want?”
