Famed filmmaker Tim Burton will make his television debut in a Wednesday Addams-inspired series, starring Jenna Ortega in the title role.

I’ll get on my feet here and say that Christina Ricci’s portrayal of the character is the best known today. However, many other actresses have acted on Wednesday since she was introduced in the 1964 original series, including Lisa Loring, Noelle Von Sonn, Nicole Fugere, Krysta Rodriguez, Rachel Potter, Lauren Revere, Melissa Hunter, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Cindy Henderson, Debi Derryberry and Chloe Grace Moretz.

But we’re just as excited to see what Jenna Ortega will bring to the role, as the actress has had a real breakthrough with films of late Scream and X under her belt.

Wednesday release date update

We know that Wednesday coming to Netflix this fall! There’s no official release date yet, but given the nature of the show, we can safely assume September or October.
