‘We used to be friends… until he supported my rival’ – Tyson Fury reveals betrayal led to his falling out with Derek Chisora

TYSON FURY has revealed he fell out with Derek Chisora after his heavyweight pal Dillian backed Whyte to beat him earlier this year.

Fury, 34, knocked out Whyte in a devastating manner at Wembley Stadium in April, ending the competition with a sixth-round uppercut.

But in the days leading up to the fight, Chisora surprisingly picked underdog Whyte to beat the WBC champion.

Del Boy and The Gypsy King had become good friends after their two fights in 2011 and 2014, both of which were won by Fury.

However, Fury, who will face Chisora for a third time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3, claims they have fallen out after his old pal backed Whyte.

In his autobiography, which is due out on November 10, Fury said: “Now I have to fight Derek Chisora on December 3 – having already beaten him twice.

“Chisora and I used to be friends but when it came to my Wembley showdown against Dillian Whyte, Chisora tipped off the other guy to take me out.

“I couldn’t understand that. How can you claim to be someone’s friend and then endorse another fighter to send him to the big screen?

“I really had no idea what was eating him at the time. Maybe it was jealousy.”

Fury remains undefeated as a pro and has won 32 of his 33 fights so far.

His only blemish was a controversial draw against Deontay Wilder in December 2018 – a result he rectified in the following two competitions as Fury defeated his American rival on both occasions.

Chisora has now lost 12 of his 45 professional competitions – including seven times since Fury’s second win over him in 2014.

But last time out, Del Boy picked up what was arguably the best win of his career – a split decision win over Kubrat Pulev.

Despite this, Chisora remains a huge underdog going into the competition.

And if Fury raised his hand in December, he is expected to face Oleksandr Usyk for all the belts in Saudi Arabia in March.
