I believe now we have reached the peak of Putin.

From now on he’s done, no problem China support him.

Whether that collapse will be quick or long-lasting we don’t know yet. But from now on the only way is downhill, because Putin has done Russia too much damage in the eyes of the world.

This man is not a lunatic but a different Putin from the one he was five years ago.

Russia feels safest when surrounded by weak or broken states that depend on Moscow.

It does not like to be neighbors with well-functioning, prosperous nations.

Putin is angry because Ukraine is leaning to the west and, although it will not be allowed into Nato for a long time, it is a partner of the military alliance.

With his 1930s-style aggression, Putin wanted to create a Novo-Russiya – New Russia.

In his mind, eastern Ukraine could even return to Russia like in the Donbas and Crimea.

He will hold a “referendum” on merging with Russia, the “vote” will be “won” by an “overwhelming” majority.

He would establish a puppet regime in the rest of the country, west of the Dnieper, a Ukrainian version of Belarus.

I don’t think it is remote reality. Putin, who now truly believes his own propaganda, has made a major strategic mistake.

Nato There would be war if the Russians set foot in the Baltic states, which are now full members of NATO.

Sanctions won’t discourage him but they will certainly hurt Russia.

They can last for ten years or more and the West unites like never before against Russia.

China worries that Putin will become ever more dependent on it and fears Russia becoming another North Korea.

Putin could be the newcomer Kim Jong Un — another bloody nuisance that Beijing must support.
