The Next Gifting Holiday sale is hugely popular, especially for parents looking for a bargain for their kids.
However, people can lose their minds at the thought of making a good sale and forget where they are, as one former Next employee recalls.
Emma Flicc, posted a video on her TikTok account, emmaflicc_, flashbacks to her time working on the Next Gift Day sale has been viewed more than 8,000 times.
Emma, 28, from the UK, revealed how she used to work for Next in their children’s clothing division and witnessed some horrifying situations during the Gifting Day sale.
In the video, Emma asks her followers if they’ve ever worked for Next during the Holiday Giveaway sale and asks if they’d like her to describe it to them.
Emma recalls having to set her alarm as early as 3 a.m., the day after Christmas, to get to work on time.
She also said she remembers many people will start queuing outside stores for the Gifts Day sale as early as 3 a.m. to make sure they get the best deals.
Shockingly, Emma recalls that there were many adults fighting in the children’s clothing arena for the best deals.
The store will smell especially bad on Gifting Day since everyone is on fire from their Christmas dinner the day before.
Emma says her lunch break usually starts at 7 a.m. on Gift Day and will have to eat breakfast from Mcdonald’s on the break as it’s the only place open.
She wrote in the caption: “Still thinking about my old colleagues every Thanksgiving.”
Emma’s experience doing the Holiday giveaway sounds daunting, and other TikTok users who are said to have worked for Next shared their stories in the comments. of video.
One user claimed: “The first time I did the Next Sale, someone was standing on top of me like a stool while I was picking up clothes on the floor.”
“Sounds right for those customers!! Bet it’s also for children’s clothing, those customers are next level.” Emma replied.
Emma wrote in another comment that she believes she suffered from PTSD from the Next Gifting Day sale, and that other users who claim to work there have other horror stories to share.
One user claimed: “You think it sucks! A woman was seen as **t**t on the store floor, not wanting to leave her bargain, heartbreaking!”
“It’s horrible!! I couldn’t stand the summer I hid under the shelf for an hour!! I’m sick of it too.” Wrote another user.
However, Emma says it’s not all bad news as employees are already able to save their favorite discounted items before customers arrive at the store.
