We gave our son a unique name

IMMEDIATELY, even though we spent months agonizing over our kids’ names, the second they arrived we used everything but their real nickname.

Looking back on it, we’re amazed that our kids never knew their real names when we spent the first two years of their lives calling them “muffins”.

But now, one mother is urging other parents to think twice about talking to their devices in front of their babies.

In one viral TikTok video has garnered more than 507,000 views, mother Sarah-Jane filmed her partner relaxing with their son Logan on the sofa.

Her husband explained: “I discovered something very disturbing today… he doesn’t even know his name.”

The couple took turns calling Logan’s name to try to get their child’s attention – but he didn’t realize it.

But when they mentioned his Amazon Alexa, he suddenly had a ringing in his ears.

Sitting next to them on the couch, Logan’s mother said the name Alexa – which caused her baby to turn to look at her expectantly.

As she struggled to hold back a giggle, Sarah’s husband said, “THIS IS what he thinks his name is.”

Showing that it wasn’t just a one-off accident, Logan’s dad added: “He looks you straight in the eye when he says his ANOTHER name.

The mother then captioned the clip: “Too late to change the name…”

But it turns out Logan’s parents aren’t the only ones facing a dilemma like this.

One mother replied in the comments: “My 3-year-old went to daycare one day and they asked him about mummy’s friends.

“He said ‘Alexa, she’s the only one listening to mummies at home.”

Another added: “I think this is proof that his parents have a bit of an Alexa addiction.”

Meanwhile, a third joked: “I’m sure you can check the birth certificate.”
