We bought simple-to-install Home Depot privacy fence panels for $98 – it’s easy to take down if you’re renting

A gardening guru has transformed a garden with simple – and inexpensive – Home Depot privacy panels that are also perfect for renting.

The Los Angeles-based landscaper shared a TikTok video while installing the $98 barrier.

The panels were purchased from Home Depot for just $98 each, Los Angeles-based landscaper Daniel Deephouse said on TikTok

He also gave a handy tip: Don’t let the bamboo umbrella touch the ground, lest it rot.

Daniel Deephouse (@deephouselandscaping/) told viewers that he was creating privacy in a backyard that was already bordered by a short metal fence.

He added in the video, “Wiring this very affordable bamboo fence with the current fence makes for a very quick and inexpensive privacy protection option.”

Deephouse explained, “There’s already a fence here that’s in really great condition, except it’s only 4 feet high and clear.”

I put up a fence and my neighbors tried to tear it down, but I had the last laugh

“So it’s not great for a backyard.”

Deephouse then carried the bamboo fence to the metal barrier and began attaching its center to the existing structure.

It took him just minutes to install the 6ft high and 8ft long panels – also available as 8ft high screens.

He said: “Setting up is really fast.”

“I took the center strand of the wire that goes through this [metal] Fence.

“And I wire that to the top of the post to make sure we have a nice straight fence and it actually doesn’t touch the ground so it doesn’t rot.”

GOOD FOR RENT

When asked on TikTok where others could buy the panels, he replied, “Home Depot.” Each panel costs $98.

Another viewer checked the placement: “So don’t let it touch the ground, huh?”

Deephouse replied, “For this fence I used the center wire in the bamboo and this prevented it from touching the ground, I have others on the ground.”

Jenai Rieann also questioned him: “Are they easy to dismantle if you have a rental property?”

He said to her, “It’s easy! Just cut the wire you use to attach them and then you can reuse it elsewhere if you like. This is a rental property.”

According to Deephouse’s landscaping website, he was born in Perth, Western Australia, and has always “had a love of plants – I’ve had a real ego connection with them since I was a little boy.”
