Wayne Rooney’s son Kai signs for Puma aged 12 after Man Utd academy thrived before his father’s move to DC United

WAYNE ROONEY’s son Kai has been snapped up by Puma after a stunning season for Manchester United’s academy.
While Kai’s father Wayne is about to sign his contract as the new manager of American team DC United, the 12-year-old is writing his own impressive deals.

Sports manufacturing giant Puma has welcomed the exciting young talent into its ranks.
Kai announced on Instagram that he had signed a deal with the company and told his 55,000 followers: Great to sign for @puma
“Only see big things”.
His sponsorship deal follows an incredible season at Manchester United’s academy.
Kai scored an incredible 56 goals for the United kids last season.
And he’s not just a goalscorer, as evidenced by his 28 assists in the same season.
Scoring was one of Kai’s incredible exploits FOUR Goals in one game during a game against Liverpool last October.
The youngster joined the Red Devils’ setup in December 2020 and has only gotten stronger since then.
Rooney Jr – an Everton fan – had several offers but opted to join the club where his father enjoyed most of his success.

Meanwhile, Rooney Sr. was spotted arriving in America ahead of his return to DC United on Sunday.
He was also pictured overseeing DC United’s training ahead of the official announcement.
Rooney spent two seasons with the MLS team as a player, from 2018 to 2020, and is now set to be appointed manager of the club.
The England legend has agreed to take charge of the Washington DC-based club, although The Sun exclusively revealed Ms Coleen’s concerns about being “oceans apart”.
Kai and mum Coleen, as well as Cass, 4, Klay, 9, and Kit will remain in the UK after finding life difficult when they originally moved to the States.
