Who are Wayne Sr and Jeanette Rooney?
Rooney’s mother Jeanette was a diner at De La Salle academy, the school in Liverpool where Wayne and his brothers attended.
But just last year, the school was threatened with closure after two unsatisfactory Ofsted inspections.
“I’ve worked here for almost 25 years, a woman I work with has been here a year longer than me,” says Jeanetter. Mirror.
“We are here because we love this school. The boys are awesome. They are polite and attentive. I enjoyed serving them dinner and watching them grow – a lot of them went on to do really good things for themselves.
“I am very sad that the school may close. This community needs this school. It has been a big part of so many lives – it would be tragic if they got away with it.”
Rooney has previously been very protective of his parents and talked about his dislike of TV presenter Jonathan Ross, who made comments about Thomas and Jeanette’s pictures on holiday in 2003.
“It’s a thing that really annoys me,” United’s all-time top scorer told Daily mail.
“To this day, if I saw Jonathan Ross, I would talk to him and ask him why. 10 years ago, I didn’t talk to him. I will hit him.
“If you’re wanting me, no problem. I am in the public eye. I got it. But not my parents. I feel that is really unfair.”
Not much is known about the career of Thomas, Rooney’s father. But Thomas was arrested in 2011 for allegedly taking part in a £100,000 football betting scam.
