AUTHORS have announced that a sixth person – a child – has died from injuries sustained during the parade in Waukesha, as police documents say the “emotionless” suspect “zigzagged” through crowd.
Darrell Brooks was arrested on Sunday, just minutes after the 39-year-old is said to have plowed through a busy Christmas parade, killing six people and injuring more than 60 others. before fleeing the scene.
“Waukesha County DA announces a child has now died in the Waukesha Parade incident. The death toll now stands at 6 instead of 5,” thepatch.com reported Tuesday.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Brooks on Monday, police officers made it clear that “this was an intentional act intended to attack and hurt as many people as possible.”
The police have yet to release any information on the motive Brooks’ alleged assault in Waukesha on Sunday or whether it is intentional.
Investigators said he is believed to have fled the scene of domestic violence shortly before the crash.
Brooks, who has a criminal history dating back to 1999, was released on $1,000 bail just three weeks earlier after allegedly punching and trying to run over his ex-girlfriend at a gas station.
Some Brooks’ Neighbors describe The 39-year-old appeared odd, strange and thought he must have “snapped” before being accused of carrying out the horrific marching attack.
One of Brooks’ neighbors, who has not been identified, told The Sun the 39-year-old is “always a bit sad.”
“I didn’t know him better than ‘hello and goodbye’ but I remember seeing that red van parked there,” they said.
