The incident happened after the last bell of Magagne’s fight with Sithembiso Maduna.

After a fight against Magagne and a heated argument, Sediane unleashed a barrage of punches without warning.

Magagne was forced to post his guard after the fight ended to defend against the attack.

Sediane threw a series of left and right hooks before narrowly missing and touching down on a vicious looking uppercut.

Coach Sediane was furious after Magagne celebrated in the face of his opponent Maduna.

The pair met for the second time with the national title at stake after Maduna won their first bout by split decision in February last year.

But after a dominant performance, Magagne clearly thought he had won and flexed his muscles in Maduna’s face as the final bell rang.

He jumped the ropes in celebration before being confronted by Maduna’s trainer as he got back on the canvas.

And then all hell broke loose as a shocked Maduna just stood there and watched his trainer dish out a barrage of punches.

Indeed, soon after, Magagne was declared the winner of the fight by majority decision.

But Boxing South Africa has opened an investigation into Sediane’s heinous actions.

A statement read: “The act committed by Sediane is contrary [the] spirit represented by boxing law and regulations and has brought the sport into disrepute.

“The BSA takes this matter very seriously and is receiving attention at this time and boxing stakeholders will be informed of the outcome in due course.”

It continues: “Boxing is a professional sport and all licensees are expected to act and behave in a professional manner at all times.

“We will ensure that the necessary steps are taken. We sincerely apologize to the public broadcasters, sponsors and other media houses for the behavior of one of our licensees.”
