The driver confronted the cheeky thief

It is believed he did the cheeky free shopping spree while the van was parked on Pepper Street in Millharbour – just a quarter mile from the supermarket chain’s Isle of Dog store.

The amazing clip begins with the man in a dark green hoodie driving through the back of the van while his scooter is on the ground.

He uses a pole to search the boxes that slide into the back of the van, leisurely choosing from the groceries inside.

When his bag is full, he coolly lowers the shutters on the rear of the van – just as the driver appears after the delivery.

The man is trying to leave with his grocery bag and a suitcase when the driver asks, “What are you doing?”.

The thief tells him “don’t touch me, don’t touch me” as he tries to pick up his scooter.

However, he decides not to and walks away repeating “don’t touch me” as astonished witnesses look on.

The supermarket giant is known for its budget-friendly offerings and has more than 600 stores across the UK.

It comes as the shop’s Just Essentials range is being resold at twice the price as the cost of groceries soars.

The popular Budget range is priced 106% higher than Asda at a railway station convenience store in Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex.

Shoppers recognized the range by the distinctive yellow packaging, but the Asda and Just Essentials logos were hidden by white labels.

The price of spaghetti bolognese and beef lasagne soared from £1.49 to £2.99 – more than double the price at Asda.

A punnet of blueberries, which retails at 89p, was seen priced at £1.75 – an increase of 97%.

Sweet and sour chicken with rice, as well as sausage and puree dishes, were also raised from £1.45 to £2.99 – an increase of 106%.

The store also stocked the supermarket’s old budget SmartPrice range, but scrawled the branding on a packet of lard.

The Sun has reached out to Asda for comment.
