The Saudi side paid a whopping £47million for Neves, whose contract at the West Midlands has just one year left.

And the former Wolves captain recorded a video message thanking the club at his official post and saying goodbye Twitter Account.

He went over some of his stats and highlights during his six years at Molineux, including some of his spectacular goals and a European adventure.

But after Neves mentioned his teammates and his role as last season’s captain in the middle of the 3:18 minute video, he can’t contain his emotions.

He takes a deep breath but has to pause as he bends down and wipes away the tears.

Neves told fans: “I can’t thank you enough for the reception.”

“I cannot thank you enough for the way you have treated me and most importantly for making my family your own.

“The way you support the team is unreal.

“Now I’ll be one of you: a big fan for life.”

“It really feels like home here and my family will never forget you.”

Neves then hinted at a possible return to Molineux.

He added: “I go as a player but I will always be a wolf no matter what.”

“I’ll see you on the South Bank one day. Wolves hey we. your captain Ruben Neves.”

Neves has scored 30 goals in 253 Wolves games and has been heavily linked with a transfer to Barcelona as he nears the peak of his career.

However, he disappointed many fans when he moved to the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

However, the fee will help Wolves enormously in their attempts to reduce their debt and comply with financial fair play regulations.
