The NFL game in London this morning ended in an outrageous double doink.
Will Lutz’s 61-yard field goal hit the post and crossbar before falling inches short.
The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New Orleans Saints 28-25 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Lutz scored a 60-yard field goal just before.
And his 61-yard attempt would have forced overtime against the Vikings in London.
Lutz said: “Honestly it was two of the same kicks, unfortunately the second had to move a meter more than the first.
“I hit that kick both ways during the warm up.
“I hit them both as flush as I could, I’m just shocked the second one didn’t go in.”
Greg Joseph scored five successful field goals in a game that turned into an exciting battle at the football stadium.
Minnesota improved to 3-1 on the year while New Orleans fell to 1-3 after the heartbreaking loss.
Saints head coach Dennis Allen added, “It was a frustrating way to end this game.
“We had our chances, I thought our boys fought back in the second half but we made too many mistakes in the first half to go behind.
“From where I was, I thought it was going to be good.
“It came off the left post on the crossbar and came down badly for us.
“We were in the position where we felt we could do it.”
