Watch Sadio Mane ask Takumi Minamino to order champagne as Liverpool celebrate their epic Carabao Cup win at Wembley

LIVERPOOL striker Takumi Minamino limited his champagne spray during the club’s Carabao Cup celebrations after being told not to do so by Sadio Mane.

The Reds celebrated with the trophy at Wembley after their game epic penalty shootout win over Chelsea on Sunday.

With the players gathered on the midfield podium, the customary bottles of champagne were laid out ready to be sprayed.

Japan international Minamino, who was unable to come on from the bench against the Blues, picked up a bottle with the intention of pouring it on his teammates.

When he picked up the bottle, he turned to the devout Muslim manethe person politely asked him not to spray it.

Minamino performs his duty as he puts it back on the ground, before joining the rest of the cast in singing and dancing.

But when official photos of the team celebrating on the podium were taken, Mane left to allow teammates to soak in champagne.

Boss Jurgen Klopp noticed Mane had left the rest of the team and came to stand with him to make sure he didn’t feel left out.

Fans were quick to praise Minamino for respecting Mane’s wishes, with one user tweeting: “Mane did the right thing to feel comfortable. Minamino was very polite and very understanding. Please be respectful. .”

Another commented: “Minamino even looks at Mane with an attitude of knowing ‘is this interesting to you?’ And fully respect his wishes.

The third added: “Love Minamino for understanding.”

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson revealed in 2020 how the club sprays alcohol-free champagne in celebration of their Premier League title win.

Along with Mane, the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah also limits alcohol due to Islam.

Speaking to The Times, Henderson says: “Non-alcoholic champagne with a trophy lift for Mo and Sadio.

“There’s no such thing in the dressing room [intolerance] So why not in the outside world? “
