LIONEL MESSI’s wonderful start to the season continued as he scored a superb goal for Paris Saint-Germain against Benfica on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old Argentine scored his 127th Champions League goal, completing a stunning move by the French champions.
Messi put the ball into Mbappe, who quickly turned and fed it to Neymar.
The Brazilian then played it back to Messi, who swept a beautiful strike into the top corner.
But despite the brilliant goal, PSG failed to secure a third straight win in Europe as Benfica drew 1-1 in Portugal thanks to an own goal from Danilo Pereira.
Meanwhile, Messi has scored seven times in 12 appearances so far this season.
The former Barcelona man has added a further eight assists for the French champions in the 2022/23 season.
His 15 goals this season is just 11 fewer than in his entire first season at PSG.
And he’s sensationally linking up with Neymar and Mbappe – who have 19 and 11 goal contributions respectively.
The superstar trio seems to be working better than ever despite rumors that Mbappe and Neymar aren’t getting along.

PSG have won eight of their nine Ligue 1 games, dropping just two points from a possible 27.
They are two points ahead of Marseille at the top of the table and average more than three goals per game.
But there are still speculations about Messi’s future at PSG.
The South American genius is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a stunning return to Barcelona.
