LIVERPOOL defender Nat Phillips sent social media into turmoil on Tuesday night after knocking out Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a cheeky spin on Cruyff.
The 24-year-old starred in his first Champions League game of the season as the Red Devils beat AC Milan 2-1 at the San Siro.
Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for Serie A, but the Merseyside side came back to win thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
The win gave Liverpool maximum points from their six group stage games, and fans were quick to praise Phillips, who partnered Ibrahima Konate at the heart of defence.
The former Stuttgart player dazzled the supporters with a stunner in his box in the 69th minute.
Phillips reacted quickly after Konate blocked the pass, before calmly performing a Cruyff swing that sent Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie fouling.
Commenting on the incident, one user tweeted: “Just Nat Phillips takes Zlatan Ibrahimovic into the next space with a Cruyff twist.”
Another commented: “Nat Phillips when Cruyff shoots in San Siro is what we’re here for!”
A third added: “Nat Phillips as Cruyff shoots at the San Siro. What a time to live.”
Meanwhile one quipped: “Maldini wears Nat Phillips pajamas.”
Another claimed: “Can confirm that seeing the big Nat Phillips turn Cruyff away from Zlatan is lovely.”
This fan posted: “I’m alive to see Nat Phillips Cruyff flip on the San Siro.”
And this user commented: “No way Nat Phillips just kicked the San Siro and did it hahahaha.”
Phillips, who was linked with a move to West Ham in January, was also praised by Jurgen Klopp after the clash.
Speaking to BT Sport, Klopp said: “He played an excellent game.
“Nat with that situation, I didn’t see, just watched from afar. I really look forward to seeing it for the first time!
“We talked in the dressing room about it. It was a difficulty! “
