After the game, a young fan stormed onto the pitch and ran straight towards Messi, who was about to run back to the tunnel.

But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s bodyguard stopped him.

Yassine Chueko, the former US soldier personally handpicked by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham to protect his star player, then allowed the young fan to take a photo with Messi before escorting him off the pitch.

Fans took to social media to react to the heartwarming moment, with one person tweeting: “Awww! There’s a good bodyguard!”

Another added: “This is beautiful to see. The greatest thing of all time.”

A third wrote: “Messi’s bodyguard is undefeated.”

A fourth simply said: “He’s great.”

While another commented: “Takes his job as seriously as he should but understands the human side good guy.”

Messi’s bodyguard is a former Navy Seal with experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He is also trained in martial arts and has participated in many MMA fights.
