SOCCER fans have praised Lionel Messi’s bodyguard for giving a young fan an unforgettable matchday moment.
Inter Miami missed out on a place in the MLS playoffs on Saturday after a 1-0 defeat against FC Cincinnati.
After the game, a young fan stormed onto the pitch and ran straight towards Messi, who was about to run back to the tunnel.
But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s bodyguard stopped him.
Yassine Chueko, the former US soldier personally handpicked by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham to protect his star player, then allowed the young fan to take a photo with Messi before escorting him off the pitch.
Fans took to social media to react to the heartwarming moment, with one person tweeting: “Awww! There’s a good bodyguard!”
Another added: “This is beautiful to see. The greatest thing of all time.”
A third wrote: “Messi’s bodyguard is undefeated.”
A fourth simply said: “He’s great.”

Messi’s bodyguard is a former Navy Seal with experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is also trained in martial arts and has participated in many MMA fights.
