Watch Karim Benzema take a hilarious tumble on goal before helping Al-Ittihad to a narrow victory

KARIM BENZEMA made an uncharacteristic mistake in Al-Ittihad’s narrow victory over Al Akhdoud.
The former Real Madrid player fell as he faced goal, missing his side’s golden opportunity to extend their lead.
Benzema was played on goal as Al-Ittihad took a 1-0 lead in the 83rd minute and had a clear chance to score.
But the star got his feet stuck in the grass and couldn’t keep his balance, so he fell to the ground just outside the pitch.
This allowed Al-Akhdoud goalkeeper Paulo Vitor to knock the ball away and keep his team in the game.
Luckily for Benzema, the score remained 1-0 and his embarrassing slip didn’t cost his team any points.
And he can rest easy knowing it was he who scored the only goal in the game after hitting the goalkeeper with a clever little strike from his knee.
The Frenchman has now scored three goals and provided two assists in his six appearances in the Saudi Pro League since moving from Madrid this summer.
Benzema left the 14-time Champions League winner after almost 15 years at the club.
His contract with Al-Ittihad is reportedly worth a staggering £342m and is on a two-year deal with the option of a third year.
