But in one notable moment, Rahm slowed down on his swipe, eventually hitting the ball just an inch.
This meant he unnecessarily shot a bogey in what was a frustrating and bizarre moment for the 2021 US Open champion.
After his lap, the Spaniard said: “I wish I could give you all the excuses in the world.
“It just didn’t feel good in my hands and I tried to stop but I didn’t.
“I just didn’t stop. I dont know. It was very strange.”
It was the shortest missed putt of his PGA Tour career.

And that meant he finished the day two under par for the tournament so far – seven behind Norwegian leader Viktor Hovland.
Reacting to the incredible miss, one social media user said: “I bet he was furious for the rest of the day afterwards.”
Another terrified fan added, “Jon Rahm just hit the worst putt in golf history.”
And a third said: “I can’t even watch Rahm putt again. Scares me.”
