THIS is the moment Granit Xhaka scores a comical own goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 friendly defeat by Juventus.
The unfortunate incident happened during injury time in the first half when the Gunners suffered a rare loss.
Xhaka returned to Arsenal’s starting XI today following Switzerland’s World Cup adventure.
But he scored at the wrong end of the field as he fended off a Juve attack.
As Arsenal players occupied themselves in their own box, the Italians pressed down the right wing before delivering a curled cross.
A gunner jumped high in the air before missing the ball.
But Xhaka wasn’t so lucky as he also tried an air release.
The midfielder nodded his head against the ball as it was lashed out by Juventus.
However, instead of rebounding outside the box, it instead sailed past Aaron Ramsdale and into Arsenal’s net.
Xhaka looked distraught as he realized his mistake was costly.

And Juventus rubbed salt in the wound by celebrating boisterously in front of the Emirates’ faithful.
Fans were quick to react online, saying, “Xhaka will be beating up on this for sure.”
Another explained: “We can’t help but talk about it. What’s wrong with Xhaka?”
One remarked: “Xhaka is a loose cannon. A red card waiting to be passed.”
Another added: “It’s been a while since Xhaka acted like Xhaka. I missed that.”
To make matters worse, Xhaka’s header was later followed by a Rob Holding own goal.
The centre-back converted a shot by Juve’s Samuel Illing-Junior to give the visitors a 2-0 win.
But it could have been different if Eddie Nketiah had taken a clear chance before Xhaka’s mistake.
The striker missed an open goal that would have put his side in control.
However, Nketiah fired his attempt off the post and wide.
It’s certainly not what Mikel Arteta wanted to see, especially with first choice Gabriel Jesus out for about three months.
