And with the score in the first period, the 26-year-old Bees forward took the ball at the half-time mark with his eyes on goal.
After hesitating for a second, the hot shot looked up and hit him from a distance.
The Wolfsburg keeper was caught napping and the swirling effort hit the bottom corner, as seen on the club’s Instagram.
After some good club form, the capless forward was hoping to topple Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Toney has scored 58 goals in 105 games for Brentford, including ten of 14 this season, but it wasn’t enough to earn a Qatar 2022 call-up.
Following the November announcement, The Sun revealed on Sunday that Toney is the subject of a seven-month investigation into allegations of gambling during his time in the minor leagues.
The Brentford striker could face a huge ban after it was claimed he broke FA betting rules 232 times between February 2017 and January 2021.
Toney played for Northampton, Peterborough and on loan at four other EFL clubs before joining the Bees in 2020.

The striker took to Twitter to make a statement on the matter.
He wrote: “I am aware of a story about myself in a national newspaper.
“I have assisted the Football Association in its investigation and will not comment until this investigation is complete.
“I’m a proud Englishman and it was always my childhood dream to play for my country at a World Cup.”
Toney, who captained his club seven times this season, hasn’t made the plane but is hoping to continue his scoring streak in the second half of Prem’s season.
He scored twice in his side’s impressive 2-1 win at Manchester City in November.
England star Kieran Trippier has been fined for breaking the FA betting rules after telling a friend to ‘pile up’ ahead of his move from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Trippier did not directly place a bet but following an investigation he was banned from football activity for ten weeks and fined £70,000.

In 2016, Joey Barton was found to have broken the betting rules after placing 1,260 bets over a ten-year period.
The following April, he was suspended for 18 months, effectively ending his career as he retired rather than deciding to appeal his punishment.
