He successfully hit striker Virgil Misidjan with a throw to the ball.

But with Bijlov now miles away from his goal and indeed off the field, Misidjan sensed an opportunity to overtake him and score.

However, Bijlow’s quick thinking immediately thwarted that plan.

Realizing he was in trouble, the Feyenoord keeper grabbed another ball and threw it onto the field.

It came just as Misidjan was about to resume play, enraging the Twente winger.

He threw the ball furiously while the goalkeeper was cautioned for his actions.

But it was great thinking that could have saved his team a goal.

Unfortunately, Twente had the last laugh as they eventually equalized with 22 minutes remaining to secure a draw.

A second replied: “This is football heritage 😂.”

A third said: “This is very, very smart work.”

Despite the points lost, Feyenoord remain firmly on course for their first Eredivisie title since 2016-17, two points adrift of AZ Alkmaar.
