Watch as President Zelenskyy taunts Putin with mock weather after the Crimean Bridge was destroyed in a massive bomb blast

This is the moment President Zelenskyi taunted Vladimir Putin with a mock weather forecast after the despot’s favorite bridge was destroyed in a huge bomb blast.

On Saturday, Putin’s £3.2 billion bridge linking Russia to Crimea was left a burnt and partially collapsed ruin.

The Kerch Bridge exploded in a mysterious fireball, killing three people in what is being described as a major blow to Russia’s war on Ukraine.

The shock blast – which came just a day after Putin’s birthday – set fire to the railway line and blew up part of a road bridge deep in the Black Sea.

And Volodymyr Zelenskyy wasted no time in following this news with a funny weather report.

During his late night video address on Telegram, the Ukrainian leader quipped that conditions were “overcast in Crimea”.

President Zelenskyy said: “Today was a good and mostly sunny day in our country.

“It was around 20 degrees Celsius and sunny over most of the territory.

“Unfortunately, it was cloudy in Crimea, although it was still warm.

“But whatever the clouds, Ukrainians know what to do and they know our future is sunny.

“This is the future without invaders on all our territory, especially Crimea.”

Incredible videos and images show the magnitude of the blast that collapsed part of the road and set fire to a fuel train on the adjacent railway line.

It’s a hammer blow to Russia’s already disastrous war effort in Ukraine, as it cripples part of its supply chain and shows how far the reach of Kiev’s military has grown.

The exact cause of the explosion is still unknown.

But the current leading theory – and the claim being made by Russia – is that the explosion was triggered by a truck bomb.

Video surveillance of the blast shows the blast on the roadway, which appears to be centered around a large semi-truck.

Russian authorities have also released images of a red large oil rig they claim was responsible for the explosion.

Camera footage from the bridge shows the truck stopping at a checkpoint before being allowed onto the Kerch Bridge.

Local officials said three people died in the blast and rescue crews fished two unidentified bodies from the water.

A Ukrainian military source told The Sun Online that a “vehicle bomb” was used to set off the blast.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) – Kiev’s secret service, which operates a special unit – is said to be behind the explosion, according to the leading Ukrainian intelligence service Pravda.

The SGE has not yet commented on the allegations.

Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack – but has widely celebrated the blast and previously hinted it would attack the Kerch Bridge.

The blast is a major blow to Putin’s prestige, who has jeopardized his reputation to defend the peninsula from Ukrainian attacks.

And there are lines of ships supposedly forming near the destroyed strait that cannot pass due to debris in the water.

And it’s a complete embarrassment for the Russians, who boasted about having 20 different ways of protecting the bridge, including military dolphins.

Both the railway and road bridges are hated symbols of the Russian occupation of Crimea and were important supply routes throughout the Russian invasion.

Meanwhile, Moscow has identified the owner of the truck used in Saturday’s blast as Sabir Yusubov.

The 25-year-old from the Krasnodar region admitted owning the vehicle but denied any involvement in the surprise attack.

Yusubov, who seemed shocked by the allegations, told BAZA media: “I have nothing to do with what happened on the Crimean bridge.

“The truck is registered in my name. But it was my uncle who worked with it, my father’s cousin, Makhir Yusubov.”

Extraordinary footage from the scene shows a train, said to be carrying fuel, bursting into flames and the bridge’s foundations collapsing under the sheer force of the fire.

Witnesses reported hearing explosions around 6 a.m. local time, which could be heard for miles.

And a clip showed the moment when the Crimean bridge was rocked by at least one gigantic explosion.

The clip suggests that a truck exploded on the road section of the bridge as it headed towards Kerch, Crimea.

Russia violently took control of Crimea in 2014 and four years later built what is still the longest bridge Moscow has ever built.

The railway line is part of a pair of parallel bridges crossing the Kerch Strait, connecting Krasnodar in Russia to Crimea.

The roughly 11-mile road bridge was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018, with the rail bridge two years later.

Russian sources are speculating about an underwater drone responsible for the attack on the Crimean bridge, long considered a desirable target by Ukrainians.
