Watch as Josh Warrington and Mauricio Lara clash at ringside as Brit accuses the rival of spitting at him after Wood’s KO

MAURICIO LARA had to be separated from Josh Warrington by security shortly after his brutal KO of Leigh Wood.
Mexican Mauler swept away the WBA featherweight title from Wood with a brutal left hook in the seventh round of their duel in Nottingham.

Former enemy Warrington was ringside for Lara’s coronation on enemy soil – which almost ended in a post-fight brawl.
The pair faced each other after Lara exited the ring but were held back by the Heavys at Motorpoint Arena.
But a heated Lara managed SPIT at Leeds Lion Warrington before going their separate ways.
Warrington said: “Once the fight is over, he looks over at me. He sees me.
“I actually thought he would look over every now and then between fights.
“I got up from my stool, his head went forward, he spat at me.
“You know, I can do a little pantomime – yell and scream – but someone spits on me?
“I won’t allow it. It’s now that he wants to end my career and I’m more than happy to give him that opportunity.”

Lara admitted to chatting on Warrington, telling iFL TV when asked about the incident: “Of course I did.
“Because it’s something personal between me and him. It will always be like this.
“Of course I do [want to fight him again]. I’m after you [Warrington]. I’m coming for you.”
Lara and Warrington’s clash paved the way for a delicious trilogy match that could potentially take place later this year.
But the rematch clause Wood included in his contract to face the Mexican could delay a third showdown.
After his heartbreaking defeat, Wood said: “I’m a fighter, I wanted to continue but congratulations to Mauricio Lara.
“I made a mistake and paid for it. I really want the rematch.”
