AJ nearly clashed with Franklin after the closing bell but was held off by the referee. AS Franklin was restrained by a member of his team.

But former WBC cruiserweight king Bellew almost got in a fight with a member of Team Franklin.

Thankfully, no punches were thrown as Bellew was pulled away from the epicenter of the riot.

Bellew cut an angry figure as he walked away from the scene of the incident, which was just as lively as the fight itself.

The win over Franklin earned Joshua a two-fight losing streak inflicted on him by pound-for-pound king Oleksandr Usyk.

In his post-fight interview, he said: “The last time I reached for the mic it was a little bit chaotic so I’m calm.

“I appreciate every single person that comes out tonight.

“There’s a different kind of energy in this square circle here, so I apologize to anyone watching and seeing things like this because we’re athletes.”

Though frustrated by Franklin’s bully tactics, Joshua insists he has the utmost respect for the 989 assassin.

He continued, “I respect Jermaine, I respect everyone here tonight.

“Eddie thank you for this opportunity, fans and people watching at home thank you too.”

When asked who he would like to fight next, including a possible fight with Tyson Fury, he said: “You know me, I like to provide for the fans.

“I know who the fans want. Who do the fans want? You said Fury?

“The ball is in his court, I’m 100 percent honored to be fighting for the WBC World Heavyweight Championship.

“I stand here and proudly say this, it would be my honor, so wherever you are, if you’re listening.

“You know my management, you know my promoter.
