NOT every proposal can be perfect.
This was proven by a couple at a recent Toronto Blue Jays MLB game where an attempted proposal went horribly wrong.
At the top of the stands and with a rolling camera in the background, the male fan can be seen getting down on one knee to his girlfriend’s (presumably) shock.
However, her pleasant surprise quickly turned to outrage when he opened the ring box, only to offer her a ring pop.
A slap in the face, a few choice swear words and a drink to the face followed before walking away angrily.
Reporter Jordan Cicchelli, who tweeted the video originally posted on TikTok, captioned them post: “I just saw a video of a guy proposing to his girlfriend during a Jays game.
The fact that he did it with a ring pop in front of thousands of people is one thing, but doing it in the middle of an at-bat at the top of the line is where I draw a line.
One person responded, saying, “I would say yes to a ring pop, but not during a sporting event. please and thank you The game is on, darling!”
Some people remarked that it looked like he had another box in his pocket and that this suggestion might have been a joking precursor to the real deal.
However, not everyone was thrilled with this footage, and some suggested it was entirely fake.
Real or not, it’s not a game that the shocked fans surrounding the proposal are likely to forget any time soon.
