ANTHONY JOSHUA took a dip in a freezing ice bath during his recovery session on Sunday.

The former unified heavyweight champion is no stranger to getting down to business when everyone else is making the most of the day’s rest.

And he defied an ice bath with close friend Chris Casey last weekend to help his body recover from a punishing workout.

Joshua shared Casey’s clip of them stepping into an ice bath in a garden with his 13.4 million Instagram followers on Sunday night via his story.

The clip captures the couple laughing happily before stepping out to enter the bath.

None of the men showed any reservations as they stepped into the freezing cold water completely without hesitation.

Athletes often use ice baths because cold water helps in muscle recovery and helps boost their metabolism and immune system.

Joshua, 32, is currently gearing up for a high-stakes rematch with the new unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

AJ is flipped by the sleek south in the match against Tottenham in September last year, they had to receive a defeat by one point.

The date for their much-anticipated rematch is yet to be fixed, although SunSport understands the match will likely be held in May or June.

Joshua has removed Rob McCracken from his role as head coach for the crunch rematch but has yet to reveal the identity of his new head coach.

But the promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed to be revealed when the Watford warrior officially entered the training camp.

He recently told DAZN: “AJ will do it on its own when the camp starts, there’s training in the US, training in the UK.

“He, he has a good idea in mind now what his team will look like for that training camp.

“I think he’s floating. He’s excited. He feels like he’s done his research. He’s done.

“In the next three or four weeks, it will be time to enter camp and I’m sure we’ll make an announcement about who’s on the team.

“This is a camp that will be very important to his career and one that he is very excited about.”
