“Unfortunately, two flight firefighters died,” fire chief Luis Ponce told local television station Canal N.
Harrowing footage shows Flight LA2213 rolling over a truck that has been swerved onto the runway.
The truck stops and tries to get out of the flights before it overturns and the plane bursts into flames.

The plane comes to a halt with emergency braking and firefighters try to help evacuate the passengers.
Pictures show the plane overturned and passengers exiting on the evacuation slide near the cockpit.
Harrowing footage taken of passengers waiting on the tarmac shows the plane crash-landing.
Sparks and huge plumes of smoke can be seen from the rear of the plane as it grinds across the concrete runway.
Other footage shows the runway and plane doused in fire retardant.
Clarin reporter José María del Pino was one of the first to report the incident on Twitter.
He said: “Consolidated information: Latam Juliaca [Peru} – Lima flight collided with an airport truck when landing at the Jorge Chávez Airport in Lima. Security videos show that the plane was landing normally until the truck came across.”
Operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended.
LatAm Peru said: “We regret to confirm that the flight LA2213 that covered the Lima – Juliaca route, operated by LATAM Airlines Peru suffered an accident on the ground. There are no passengers or crew members deceased.”
The Sun Online has contacted LatAm Airlines for comment.
Last month, A LatAm flight from Santiago, Chile, was forced to make a quick landing in Asuncion, Paraguay, after being hit with severe weather.
The flight had diverted to Foz de Iguazú in Brazil following reports of torrid weather conditions over Asuncion but were soon given the all-clear to fly off again towards the Paraguayan capital.
Around 11pm it was forced to make an emergency landing at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport Asuncion due to “severe weather conditions en route,” according to the airline.
All 48 passengers are said to be safe and well, albeit shaken by the incident, according to the airline.
Harrowing footage from inside during landing shows passengers being flung into the air from their seats as the plane landed.
Others screamed while some were heard praying.
Incredible images shared by CNN show the aircraft with its nose smashed off and its windshield cracked.
Chilean aviation authorities said in a statement it had launched an investigation with their counterparts in Paraguay.
