On April 24, 2023, Jimmy mentioned FOX’s firing of Tucker Carlson and CNN’s firing of Don Lemon in his opening monologue.
“That’s right, Fox News has cut ties with Tucker Carlson,” he began to hilariously tell the audience.
“After all these years, they part ways… which means he’s been fired.
“What a shock. What an absolutely delightful shock that is.”
He then referenced CNN’s removal of Don Lemon, continuing, “For those of you who don’t follow cable news, Ronald McDonald and the Burger King will be fired on the same day.”
At this point in the broadcast, a current news program suddenly appeared.
The skit also featured Jimmy’s co-host Guillermo, who jokingly announced that the comedian had also been fired from his home network.
