Out of July 29, 2024 There will be a major shutdown at one of the largest Xbox services.

Next year the Xbox 360 Store and Xbox 360 Marketplace will be closed.

This means that Xbox 360 owners will no longer be able to purchase new games or DLCs for their consoles.

It’s still about a year before the marketplace closes completely, but players need to start planning for the store closure now.

Xbox 360 games can still be purchased through backwards compatibility, but owners will need an Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S to purchase them.

If you have game saves on your Xbox 360, you can transfer the data to your new console and continue playing where you left off.

After the deadline, you can continue to play any games you previously purchased.

Even if the game is not currently available on your console, you can still download it after the deadline.

After this date, your library will not be lost, but you will not be able to add to it either.

The other blow to Xbox 360 players is the removal of some other apps available on the console.

After July, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer be supported on the Xbox 360, even if you have downloaded it.

It will still work on the more modern consoles, but you will no longer be able to play movies and TV shows through your console.

Thankfully, Xbox has given players enough warning to give you some time to prepare for the switch.
