Warner Robins train derailment sees ‘multiple cars on tracks and hazardous materials response’ on closed freeway

Authorities said a number of train cars derailed near Robins Air Force Base.

Warner Robins Police Chief John Wagner said officers were working on the incident but no further details were available at this time.

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced multiple lane closures over the incident.

“Traffic alert!!! Highway 247 north-south between MLK and North Davis Drive is closed due to a train derailment,” Warner Robins Police said on Twitter.
