Warm up on the road – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Warmer weather is turning into this morning with temperatures below freezing for next week this morning.

Immediately: The only chance for sub-freezing temperatures next weekend occurs this morning.

Alarm: There won’t be any warning days this week.

Awareness: Pleasant weather to and from during the work week.

Today’s high would be in the mid-50s.

The sky is partly cloudy today.

While temperatures are low, our next rain is likely to arrive on Tuesday. The chance of rain will be low for everyone, but the best chance of seeing showers will be along I-80.

I really think the day will be dry, but I’ll admit that a fast-moving short wave is expected to roll over.

While highs are expected to be warmer on Tuesday than today, temperatures are 850mb lower.

I think the difference in temperature is due to the snow on the ground. No snow will allow us to see warmer temperatures on Tuesday even with a temporary cooler air mass in place.

The warm-up continues Wednesday through Friday with temperatures well above the seasonal average on each day.

I have us in the 70s on both Thursday and Friday with the next good chance the rain will arrive Friday afternoon and last into early Saturday morning.

We have to be warm enough that snow isn’t a concern on the back of the cool front heading into the weekend.

It will drop to highs although we see highs in the 50s on both Saturday and Sunday.
