The right-back left the south London club in the summer of 2019 for a £50million move to Old Trafford.

The transfer didn’t quite go to plan, however, as he struggled to establish himself as Manchester United’s first choice at the position.

Wan-Bissaka was rumored to be returning to Selhurst Park over the summer but no move materialized but ties with Palace have not faded.

Vieira admitted the player is still ‘loved by the fans’ but refused to go any further on a possible deal.

He said: “Listen, he’s a Man United player. We have to respect that and there is nothing more to say about that.

“He’s a good player, there’s no doubt about that. He’s related to this football club and I think the fans love him.”

“But again, he’s a United player. I hope we will be busy [in January].

“We’re always working hard to improve the squad, but we know how hard and difficult it is to find the players to improve the team.

“We lack numbers but it’s important to find the right players.”

However, a potential move could prove difficult due to the player’s salary, making it more likely that any move will have to be on loan.

But despite the 25-year-old making just one Premier League appearance this season, Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag believes he still has a future at the club.

He said: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka has a future. He’s had a couple of good years at Man United but has had a lot of illnesses and injuries since the start of this season.

“He’s been fit since the restart so he’s been able to train with the team and you can see how he’s progressing.”

If United did decide to part ways with Wan-Bissaka, he would have options as Wolves and West Ham were also reportedly interested in his signature.
