Walmart Wyomissing shooting leaves one dead and another injured after ‘gunman opened fire in parking lot’ sparking lockdown

A STORE at a Walmart in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania left one person dead and another injured after a gunman opened fire in a parking lot.
The explosions were reported just before 4 p.m. local time, according to the Reading Eagle.
The two victims are said to be found in different areas of the parking lot.
The store is locked while police investigate.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams told Reading Eagle that the survivor did not appear to have suffered a gunshot wound. However, emergency reports indicated one victim was shot in the face by a bullet.
A suspect is said to be in custody and arrested by a Spring Township officer who answered the call, according to Reading Eagle.


Adams said the investigation is active and ongoing.
“It appears to be a family affair,” Wyomissing Police Chief John Phillips told WFMZ.
Reading Eagle also reports multiple car crashes happening at the same time.
Police told the outlet at least one of the accidents was related to the shooting.
At least one vehicle was hit by multiple shots, as shown in photographs taken at the site of the incident.
The Walmart store is located on Berkshire Avenue and State Hill Road.
The Berkshire shopping mall is also in that area, along with many shops, restaurants, hotels and apartment buildings.


Wyomissing is located just outside the city of Reading.
The population is just over 10,000, according to the 2010 census.
