CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia Governor Jim Justice tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday.
The Republican governor’s office said Justice suddenly developed symptoms, then underwent a positive PCR test for coronavirus.
An examination by a state lab confirmed the initial results, and an additional test will be performed Tuesday night.
His office said Justice is experiencing moderate symptoms and is isolating at home.
Justice is fully vaccinated and booster shot.
He was scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address Friday to the Legislature on Wednesday night. The address will now be sent by text message to legislators in response to constitutional requirements.
