Voice Actor Longtime Tails Snags Role For Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Film

Voice actor Colleen O’Shaughnessey has confirmed she will reprise her role as Miles “Tails” Prower in the 2020 sequel. Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

O’Shaughnessey revealed the casting news on Twitter this afternoon, saying, “Taking my old friend Tails on another adventure. Excited to announce I’m the voice of Miles” Tails “Power in # SonicMovie2! Can’t wait for you all to see him on the big screen. ”

She joins stars Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Jim Carrey (Dr. Ivo Robotnik), and James Marsden (Donut Lord… ahem. I mean Tom Wachowski), who will reprise their roles from first movie. Idris Elba of course voicing Knuckles the Echidna to round out the trio of cartoon characters we know so far. O’Shaughnessey also plays Tails in the short nib introduced in the late 2020 adaptation.

Colleen was the voice of Tails for a few years, stepping into the flying fox’s shoes for the first time since the 2013 games Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystals. Before that, she was the voice of Charmy Bee of Knuckles Chaotix before taking on the role of Sonic’s effective partner.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on April 8, 2022.
