Vladimir Putin News – Nasty Russian troops will attack POLAND next in support of Ukraine, pro-Kremlin warlord vows

Ukraine should listen to US advice and cede territory to Russia

Demands for Ukraine to cede territory to Russia to avert a protracted war should be “carefully considered,” according to a conservative former chancellor.

Lord Lamont of Lerwick highlighted comments by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger at this week’s World Economic Forum advising Ukraine to cede control of Crimea, annexed in 2014, to Russia.

The veteran US statesman argued that doing so could prevent a protracted war in the region.

Lord Lamont told the House of Lords: “Has my noble friend read Henry Kissinger’s speech at Davos in which he advised those at the conference not to be carried away by the mood of the moment and suggested that negotiations to end the… War-fighting would have to begin within the next two months, and I quote, “before upheavals and tensions occur which are not easily contained”?

“And he suggested that the starting point for negotiations should be the de facto pre-invasion borders.

“Would my noble friend agree that Dr. Kissinger has a very good reputation, is not a woolly idealist and a sober diplomat?

“And uncomfortable as it may be, shouldn’t one study his advice carefully?”

Foreign Secretary Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon replied that while “all words of wisdom” must be heard, it was important that the “sovereignty and integrity of every nation” be protected.
