Virat Kohli practices with Sanjay Bangar in Mumbai

Test India captain Virat Kohli has started preparing for the upcoming 2nd Test against New Zealand. The match will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from December 3, 2021.

Kohli who decided to rest after World Cup T20 in the UAE, will rejoin the team after the conclusion of the ongoing First Test against New Zealand in Kanpur.

As part of his preparations for the upcoming match, Virat Kohli enlisted the help of former India assistant coach and RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar. The two are seen sweating in nets while trying to solve some of Virat’s recent troubles with the bat.

In Virat Kohli’s absence, Ajinkya Rahane is leading the Indian team in its ongoing first Test match against Kiwi.

Virat Kohli’s troubles with the bat in the game’s longest format

Virat Kohli has been struggling with the stick in Test cricket for quite some time. The captain has been nowhere near his best form and it has been more than two years since he last registered the century in international cricket.

The 33-year-old has gone through a rough patch since his last home match against Bangladesh in November 2019. Since the start of 2020, the Delhi-born player has played 20 matches for India. However, he failed to make a big splash with the Bats at both home and away.

In 21 rounds, Virat Kohli made only 563 runs with an average of 26.80. Kohli crossed the 50 mark on 5 occasions, with a top score of 74.

In the four test matches he played in India, Virat scored just 172 runs with an average of almost 29 during this time.

Under the dedicated guidance of Sanjay Bangar, the next Teste fans will be hoping to see the legendary hitter back to his best form a few days from now.
