VINCE McMAHON is reportedly planning a WWE return to sell the company just months after stepping down amid a sexual harassment scandal.
In July, McMahon resigned from the company after another sexual assault investigation was opened.
He left control of WWE to his daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Triple H, real name Paul Levesque, a wrestling legend himself.
But now, according to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon wants to make a WWE comeback to help sell the sports-entertainment giant.
Through his ownership of WWE’s Class B stock, he still has the majority of the voting rights and is said to have informed the staff of his plans to return.
McMahon is said to have informed the company that he is electing himself and two former co-presidents and directors, Michelle Wilson and George Barrios, to the board.
But the move to reinstate him, which the board has previously rejected, and the others will require three current directors to vacate their positions.
Rumors of a sale have been swirling for years, although WWE has received one $1 BILLION Cash injection after selling US rights to WWE Network to Peacock.
McMahon decided to leave WWE last summer after a series of scandals.
There have been claims he paid an ex-employee $3 million to keep quiet about an affair.
The investigation began in April 2022 and found nondisclosure agreements that included allegations by female ex-WWE employees about misconduct by McMahon and John Laurinaitis, the head of talent relations.
WWE issued a statement confirming that McMahon “voluntarily stepped down from his responsibilities” within the company.
The American bought Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the holding company that owned what was then the World Wrestling Federation, from his father Vincent J McMahon in 1982.
He expanded the company during the pro wrestling boom of the 1980s and over the years WWE has credited McMahon as key to the company’s success.
It has catapulted them to the forefront of pro wrestling, a position they have maintained throughout their existence.
